Weddings & Receptions
Kincardine Castle has been the location for exclusive, magical weddings and celebrations. Accommodation: Often the close family elect to make a weekend of it and stay in the castle too - we have 16 bedrooms. Staying here is not like being in a fine hotel - more like staying with a group of friends in a grand country house.
It is an impressive castle set in spectacular gardens.
Marriage ceremonies have been held in our Great Hall or in local churches (we can help find one). Receptions in the Great Hall and Dining Room or, frequently, out in our lovely gardens.
This leaves space for photos in the Drawing Room should the weather be inclement.ds with great views to the hills of Royal Deeside. Inside guests will ascend the broad marble staircase and enter the Great Hall which, with its timbered ceiling, its oak paneling, stags heads, oil paintings, minstrels’ gallery and log fire is everything you expect of a Scottish castle.
Capacity for a stand-up reception is about 130 – for larger numbers see our page on Marquee Sites.
Capacity within the castle for a sit-down meal in one room is 60 (in 2 rooms = 80) – again see Marquee Sites for larger numbers.
Dancing: As a rule dancing is restricted to marquees as we cannot risk damaging valuable paintings and furniture. We can install a marquee close to the castle and this enables use of the lavatories in the building rather than having to hire-in mobile loos. There is a size limit on that site and larger parties have to use our marquee site.
Caterers: We have a list of approved caterers, all of whom can provide a huge range of extremely good food.
Photographs: Needless to say the interior and exterior of Kincardine Castle and the gardens provide spectacular backdrops for your wedding photographs.
