There are several options for wedding ceremonies and in this short page we list some options from religious through to civil.
You can get married in your own church and have the reception etc. here.
We are involved with our local Scottish Episcopal Church in Kincardine O’Neil and can put you in touch with the priest. The beautiful church is just a mile from the castle. If you belong to another denomination then we have contacts to suggest other options.
All the following ceremonies have been held at the castle in recent years. Most often the ceremonies are held in the Great Hall at the foot of the main staircase where there is a large archway.
Quite often the officiant is a member of the bride or grooms family. Like a church service but at the Castle. We can put you in touch with a suitable Minister of Religion.
We can recommend a celebrant. This ceremony can cover every God.
We can recommend a celebrant. This ceremony doesn’t mention God.
This is performed by the Registrar. Alternatively the ceremony can be held at the local Registry Office.
Ceremonies can be held outside but please be aware that whether it is July or January we can have weather that is less than helpful so it is best to have a ‘Plan B’. Also bear in mind that your guests might arrive as much as an hour before the ceremony and we don’t want to have them succumb before kick-off.
However you decide to get married you will need a Marriage Licence. If you don’t have this vital document then all the rest of the preparations can be perfected but you won’t be legally married.
Some kind words from our previous guests…
“Thank you so much for coming to the rescue and making Lulu and Doug’s wedding such a success. You have taken fantastic care of us and made the whole thing really memorable”. April 2016 (Their original venue was washed away by a flood).
