GOLF AND KINCARDINE CASTLE
One of the top places to stay for golf, ever, in the history of the world.
In 2017 US GolfGetaways' Mitch Laurence and Darin Bunch each made their list of 18 top places to stay, ever, in the history of the world.
Four places made it on to both lists and, of those, Kincardine Castle was the highest placed.
You can hear what they had to say about us here - in this video-enhanced excerpt from Talking GolfGetaways, Episode 36.
"As a native of the north-east of Scotland I admit to being biased but I truly believe we have some of the world's finest courses in this area - courses which, played once, just have to be played again and again."
Paul Lawrie, OBE, Former Open Champion and Ryder Cup Player
There are some 40 golf courses within 40 miles of Kincardine Castle and these include world-class links courses such as Cruden Bay, Murcar Links, Royal Aberdeen, Trump International and Newburgh on Ythan.
Additionally there are other links courses and many delightful parkland and heathland courses to tempt you.
For a break from golfing, or to spend time with the 'other half', the location of Kincardine in the middle of Royal Deeside gives easy access to other delights such as the Castle Trail, the ruggedly spectacular coastline, the Cairngorms National Park, whisky distilleries, The Queen's Balmoral Estate, and so on. Other activities include horse riding, walking (all grades) and many different challenging activities are provided very locally. Our superb gardens are a delight.
Kincardine Castle offers exclusive accommodation to groups of six or more guests. We have 15 comfortable bedrooms each with their own bathroom (13 have full showers too), superb cuisine, fine wines and deliver world-class hospitality.
"We shall never forget the extraordinary warmth of your welcome at Kincardine. You two are wonderful hosts and you spoilt us rotten. You have a very special house, and you have the great gift of being able to share it with people you’ve never met before, treat them as friends and make them feel completely at home".
Set in its own 3,000 acre estate the castle sits majestically on a hillside and the views extend 40 miles into the Cairngorm hills. All this and yet we're just 35 minutes drive from Aberdeen Airport.
Those who enjoy the great outdoors will be pleased to know that our heated locker room enables you to store and dry your kit overnight ready to set out again the following morning.
"Fabulous hospitality. We had so much fun that this should be illegal."
